In a small village in South India, cotton grows plentifully following the monsoon rains. This region has a long history of weaving, traditionally producing handwoven bed sheets and denims for some large international brands.
Unfortunately, many of these brands have since moved to cheap machine-woven alternatives. However, there are some local organizations refining and reinventing the craft. The collective we’re working with is one of those.
Weavers work in a LEED Certified Green Building powered by solar, they've implemented recycling and rainwater harvesting, and their families are offered health care and end-of-year profit sharing.
In partnership with our weavers in Tamil Nadu, we’ve developed a unique collection of heavy-gauge handwoven organic denim.
The cotton is grown locally on small farms before it’s spun and woven by hand into our exclusive designs; preserving emissions, employment, water and farmland.
